We took Maggie for her 1 Year Check-Up and she is doing GREAT!!
She gets to start trying Whole Milk now along with some other foods that weren't allowed under 1 year.
She could walk on her own if she had the confidence...she tricks herself sometimes and does it on her own without holding anything, but then realizes what she's doing and crouches down to crawl instead.
Here are her current stats:
- 20 lb 7.5 oz (39%)
- 29.25 inches tall (54%)
We were sooooo excited that she was over 20 pounds, because that is when we could turn her carseat around to forward facing...or so we thought! The pediatrician said that the guidelines JUST changed and they are now supposed to stay rearfacing until they're 2! And in Europe, they're staying rear-facing until they're like 4 or 5!!...but they are seeing a drastic reduction in head injuries, so I guess it's worth it. I have this feeling though that every year we go in from now on the cutoff is going to be pushed back again. Maybe by the time Maggie takes her drivers test she'll be able to face forward without a booster seat!
